Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) Uses a nylon powder to build parts with uniform strength and medium surface quality. An additional benefit is that the parts made here can have ductility or extreme stiffness depending on the materials.

Nylon11 (PA11) / Nylon11-CF (PA11)-CF

The parts made from Nylon11 are durable and can withstand up to 176oC temperatures. It is partially flexible and with good mechanical properties. Using this material, you can test where parts snap together and take abuse in use - excellent for making functional prototypes of injection-molded parts.

The parts made from CF-Nylon11 are extremely stiff and can be made to test functional parts or be used as non-cosmetic production parts. This material is more brittle than the above but much stiffer and can withstand up to 202oC temperatures.

Using either material, this process sees efficiency in making multiple parts and has a nice economy of scale that can be taken advantage of. 

We see an excellent application of technology in plugs made for aluminum, functional parts with complex geometry, as well as in terms of parts that receive a lot of stress.
